COOKIE Policy

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies that the Island Perinatal Counselling Network uses on islandperinatal.ca. Our Cookie Policy forms part of our Privacy Policy, which covers everything else about how we handle personal information.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Websites can also use similar browser storage that keeps data on your device. We treat both the same way and describe them together here.

What we use

Necessary cookies. These keep the site working, for example by protecting our forms from automated abuse. They are set by us and do not identify you.

Analytics cookies. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read, how they reached the site, and what device and browser they used. Google sets these cookies and processes the data on its own servers outside Canada, where it is subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. We use the results only in aggregate to understand and improve the site. We do not use analytics to identify you or to build a profile of you, and we have not enabled advertising features.

Our inquiries page. Our inquiries page embeds a form provided by Jotform. When you visit that page, Jotform may set its own cookies, including cookies it uses for statistics and marketing, as if you had visited jotform.com directly. We do not control these cookies and do not receive the information they collect. Jotform’s Cookie Policy describes them and how to manage them.

Apart from the inquiries page, we do not use marketing or advertising cookies, remarketing, or tracking pixels.

Forms on other sites. Our secure referral form is hosted by Hushmail at hushforms.com. That page is not part of our website. Cookies set there are governed by Hushmail’s Privacy Policy. What you submit through the form comes to us, and our Privacy Policy covers it from that point.

Managing cookies

You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings, and most browsers let you block third-party cookies separately. To opt out of Google Analytics on all sites, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking analytics cookies does not affect how the site works. Blocking necessary cookies may affect our forms.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site changes. The policy posted here is the one that applies, with the date it was last updated.
